Family Reunion at the Boulevard Woodgrill

Hello friends!

Sorry for the radio silence yesterday — I’ve been enjoying a family reunion of sorts here in DC! 🙂 Last night, a big group of my extended family went to dinner at a local favorite, Boulevard Woodgrill, in Clarendon, Virginia. We rented out a private room since there were so many of us, so we had a set menu, too.

I was happy to see my favorite dish was on there — the salmon! Boulevard Woodgrill has awesome salmon.

First up — mixed green salads. Yum yum.

008

Followed by our entree choices. Here’s my salmon:

And Matt got the enormous steak, obvi 🙂

Dessert was some unpictured chocolate cake, but I wasn’t a fan so I didn’t have any. Is it weird that I’m not a big cake OR chocolate person? Crazy, right? Give me ice cream, pastries, pie, and cookies any day, but cake? Eh. Chocolate? Meh. (Except for dark chocolate every once in awhile). When I was little, I always had ice cream cake for my birthdays 🙂 Mint chocolate chip ice cream cake was the best!

Anyway — it was fun seeing family I hadn’t seen in awhile! I was at the “kiddie” table (aka the under 30 table, haha) with my brother Steve, Matt, my cousin Willow, her girlfriend Jamie, and our friend Eric.

Hehe. Apparently I suck and didn’t get photos of anyone that wasn’t at our table. Oh well 🙂

I’m flying back to Chapel Hill tonight — time to play catch up with the class I missed the past couple days! Definitely worth it to see family and friends this week, but I have some serious work to do.

Have a great night!

p.s. Today is the last day to vote in the Top 50 Most Inspirational Healthy Tweeps on Twitter contest! Please take a second to vote for me? I’m @fANNEtasticfood, obviously 🙂 Thank you!

I am the same way with cake! I only like it if it is made from scratch and for a special occasion! :) That is probably a good thing with all of the other baked goodies I enjoy! lol.

I know you've posted about the love for that dress -- but it really so cute on you! I'm right there with you on the cake and chocolate (unless it's dark). Give me some frozen yogurt or pie and I'm good to go!

You look so much like your brother. I guess that sort of thing happens with siblings.

I love the Woodgrill. That's one of the first places Jason and I went when we started dating! I haven't been in ages, since we moved out to suburbia :-(

I always had ice cream cake on my birthdays too! I drooled over Carvel cake-- I love the crunchy chocolate bits and vanilla ice cream! I love ice cream cake so much in fact that I demanded it on my wedding day (we had it at the afterparty-- not the actual weddng)!

Lol that's totally something I would do. My favorite was Baskin' Robbin's ice cream cake because they had mini ice cream cones on top with different flavors of ice cream in the cones! SO awesome! You could take them off the cake and eat them like a normal cone :)

The Tandoori chicken sounds good. I don't think you and your brother look that much alike. Is one of those girls in the picture his girl friend? I wish I didn't like cake but unfortunately, I like it all. I'll bet you would have loved the cake I had at our Sunday School dinner last night. Teehee, I thought I smelled alcohol and I sniffed it out. Haha someone had brought a delicious rum cake. It reeked of rum.I kept my eye on the table at the end of the evening to see who brought it. We Methodist are not teetotalers. I had to laugh when I watched everyone gravitate toward that one cake.
