Happy Friday, my friends! I hope your week is ending on a high note. Here’s one of my high notes from this week:

sunrise lincoln memorial run

My friends Heather, Sokphal, and I met up for a morning run date yesterday and of course had to stop to snag a sunrise shot! It was cold but refreshing out – and we practically had the Lincoln Memorial to ourselves. Sorry for the face shadow, Heather. 😉

We had a great time running and chatting – the miles flew by and ended up being quite speedy, too!

5 miles, done!

As for today, I’m thinking it’s a low key yoga sort of day – I might hit an evening class to end the workweek on a calm note. 🙂

Matt and I had a fun night last night – we went to an International Guitar Night performance at Wolf Trap (in “The Barns” – their cozy, intimate indoor venue). One of my longest running AnneTheRD clients had tickets for it but wasn’t able to make it last minute, so, knowing that Matt loves guitar, she asked if we wanted to take the tickets. Such a treat!

I wasn’t really sure what to expect but it was amazing – the music was gorgeous and so unique, and the guitarists were REALLY impressive. Matt was riveted! Also, shout out to the sweet blog reader who came to say hi before the performance! 🙂

Since we knew we’d be rushing off for our big outing, we kept dinner super low key last night and I threw together some of my standard tuna salad wraps for us.

I mixed the tuna with avocado and dijon mustard, and threw a ton of arugula on top. Zara was pumped, too, since she got a little treat when I opened the tuna. 🙂 We also had some crackers, cheese, and salami to start – yum! If you’re a tuna fan, here’s my official healthy tuna salad recipe here on the blog – it’s a great weekday packable lunch.

And now, back to work! Lots of meetings and calls today. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend!

Some recipes to try this weekend:

  • Salty Maple Nut Energy Bites (great long run fuel!)
  • Whole Wheat Peanut Butter & Jelly Muffins
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Seed Pudding (how good does this sound?!)
  • Gluten Free Almond Brownies (ditto – YUM!)
  • The Best St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails (in case you want to celebrate a little early!)

That guitar night looks amazing! There is no better sound than a guitar, love it! I grew up listening to my dad play and I had started lessons a loooong time ago, but then had kids. I still want to learn though. :)

Anne - so lovely to meet you on Thursday night! I've been a faithful reader for a few years now - thanks to my sister Katie (http://kphornerrd.weebly.com) for suggesting that I start reading! We really enjoyed the show as well - especially the 'Titanium' rave at the end - ridiculously awesome! :)
