Tomorrow, I will run my 4th half marathon — the Tobacco Road Half Marathon in nearby Durham, NC. A few of my grad school girlfriends are running, too — the girls with the teal shirts are doing the full marathon! I can’t wait to see them finish. 🙂

the girls

My current half marathon PR (personal record) is from the National Half Marathon exactly a year ago in Washington D.C. I finished in 1:51:47, which is an average pace of 8:32 min/miles.

My goal for this race? Break 1:50. I’ll have to maintain about an 8:20 average min/mile pace for all 13.1 miles to do this. Gah!

pace group

I’m nervous, but I’m going to give it my all. I’m also going to try running with the 1:50 pace group the whole time — I’ve never run with a pace group, so we’ll see how it goes!

I have plans for a pasta dinner tonight with the girls and Matt, followed by an early bedtime. Wish us luck tomorrow! And if you want to see how things go before I post here on the blog — follow me on Twitter. 🙂

You will do great. I'm running the Georgia Half marathon tomorrow morning and planning to run in the 1:50 pace group too. My friend is the pace leader.

Good luck tomorrow! I love those shirts. I am interested to see your thoughts on running with a pace group, I am a little intimidated by them but I am curious.
