I’ve been getting a bunch of similar questions recently, so I thought I’d address a few of them on here 🙂

…

Frequently Asked Questions!

…

1) Where did you get that awesome shirt?!

During my California extravaganza, I posted a picture of myself doing yoga on Jenna’s living room floor in my favorite shirt:

I laughed for about a day straight when I first saw this shirt, and apparently all of you were fans as well 😉 Here’s the link to it: http://store.cottonfactory.com/cf-842.html. I have a women’s size small. Let me know if you get one, too 🙂

 …

2) You take great pictures — what camera are you using? Any tips for how can I take better photos? Have you ever taken a photography course?

Don’t tell, but… I actually just have a point and shoot!

011

What’s my secret?

#1 First and foremost: being creative with angles. If this means getting down on hands and knees and looking like a crazy person to get a picture of a tree stump in the sand, so be it 😉

#2 Finding good or interesting lighting (combined with creative angles!).

Especially in terms of food photography, natural lighting is almost always better. If you’re trying to take a picture of food, put it next to a window or take it outside! 🙂

022

Also, don’t forget to use the macro (little flower symbol) setting if you’re taking a close up picture! It makes a huge difference in clarity.

023

#3 Use the color contrast “auto correct” setting in your computer’s photo gallery.

Sometimes it doesn’t make a difference, and sometimes it really brightens up the contrasting colors in the photo.

So, what camera am I actually using?

I have a Fuji Film FinePix Z20fd. It’s little and shiny red 🙂

It’s been great for close up macro shots and daytime scenery in particular.

210However, my camera is not so good in dim lighting (aka restaurants… which is why I don’t post even when I go out for a fab meal!). I’m saving up for a manual digital camera! 🙂

The only photography course I ever took was way back in high school. I really love photography though — when I see something I start thinking of how I can make it look cool in a picture 🙂

3) Why are you so awesome?

Okay fine… I might have made that one up 😉

 …

Anyway, I hope that was helpful, and let me know if you have any other questions!

Stay tuned for some pretty pictures from my snowy 5 mile run this morning 🙂

That serious is a point and shoot camera? I am looking into getting a new camera...mine sorta crapped out while I was in Poland earlier last year. I was able to look up a tip to fix (throw the camera on the ground) and it actually worked. Anyway, still wanted to get a better camera. Thank you for the adviced on how to get some great pics!

Anne, Love the pictures and excited to know that you have a point and shoot as well. I also went on a 5 mile snowy run this morning. CRAZY! I never thought I'd do that in my life but there I was, beating the snow. Have a great rest of the weekend!
