Hello friends!

I hope you’re enjoying your weekends, and if you’re American, your 4th of July holiday weekends!

Matt and I are having a great time here in D.C. – we spent today relaxing at the pool and doing a little swimming in preparation for our upcoming triathlon, and yesterday we spent all day hiking Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. It’s been called the best hike on the east coast, and it’s one of our absolute favorites! It was great to get back out there again – the last time we hiked it was a couple years ago.

I’m taking the weekend off from blogging to relax and enjoy the holiday, but I’ll be back on Tuesday with a full recap (including a video from the top of the mountain!). In the meantime, please check out the following links – I’ve been all over the internet lately!

  1. Earlier this week, I was featured as a Fit Blogger We Love on the Fitness Magazine website! Cool, huh? Check out my interview – it’s random but fun 🙂
  2. I wrote a guest post for the Attune Foods blog with My Top 5 Take-Aways from the Fitness & Health Blogger’s Conference out in Boulder, Colorado last weekend – give it a look!
  3. I’ve been a frequent guest blogger on Chapel Hill Magazine‘s website the past couple months – check out my latest post from yesterday about my favorite hot weather activities in/around Chapel Hill!

I’m off to dinner and drinks with Matt and friends! What are you guys up to this weekend?

Thanks Anne, and a Happy Independence Day to you and your family and friends too. We are having our party today and members of the family are putting it all together for me, being as I am taking pain pills from my fall. But I will enjoy watching all of them having fun. And thank you for the first picture of all those beautiful wonderful American flags.

I love Old Rag!! My honey and I hiked it on New Year's Eve day a few years ago. Talk about FREEZING!!! It was snowing by the time we got up to the top, but also super windy! But it was beautiful. I can't wait to see your video because I haven't been when there have been leaves on the tress!

Oh wow! I can't imagine hiking it's when it's cold - I've always done it in summer! I bet it would be slippery on those rocks if there were any snow/ice?!
