Hello friends!

Even though it’s Tuesday, I’m still dreaming of the weekend. 🙂 There’s nothing that makes me happier than being outside on a beautiful day with this guy:

I look weird because I was cracking up over the picture we took right before that one, which was this:

Haha I didn’t know he was doing that.

As you’ve probably gathered by now, Matt and I finished out our weekend on Sunday with a little hike. 🙂

We headed over to Occoneechee Mountain Loop Trail in Hillsborough and spent about an hour and a half hiking around.

Beautiful views from the top:

I love hiking with Matt. It’s such a nice way to chat and enjoy each other’s company.

In other news, I finally got my recipe page all updated yesterday! Here are the latest recipes to get their own special pages:

  • “Cheesy” Mushroom Quinoa (vegan)

014

  • Simple Mediterranean Pasta Salad (vegan if you leave out the feta)

019

  • Easy Lentil Veggie Burgers (vegan)

006

  • Spiced Raisin and Pine Nut Barley Salad (vegan)

015

Yum! Apparently I was a big fan of vegetarian/vegan recipes this past month!

I’m off to school — more class and meetings today, like yesterday. We have a ton of assignments due this week so I have my work cut out for me later today, too. It’s rainy — wah! One of those days when I really wish I had a pair of cute polka dot rain boots. Do you guys have rain boots? Do your feet get hot when you’re inside?

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

p.s. Speaking of recipes, don’t forget to enter the Attune Foods October treats recipe contest! The prizes are awesome and I wish I could enter myself (I’m a judge… so that might be slightly awkward). Seriously. Get on it!

p.p.s. Are you guys on Pinterest? I just joined on Sunday and I’m already completely obsessed. It’s so weirdly addictive!

Beautiful pictures! I have rainboots with peacock feathers all over them--I LOVE them but yeah, they do get a bit warm. I don't wear them too often in spring/summer because of that but throw socks on in cooler weather and it's fine. There are tons of cute options to choose from too!

All your recipes look amazing! I'm planning on trying to make a few of them soon :) And I do not have rainboots - but I am dying for a pair!

I'm from Vancouver, Canada, so I *definitely* have a pair of rain boots. They've even come in handy already in California, where I'm living now. They're cherry red, and you can see them in my blog header! I only wear them when I'll be outside; when I used to walk to work every day I would leave a pair of flats under my desk at work and change into them when I got there. I love hiking so much and I blog about it quite a bit. My husband and I got a California parks pass this year so we try to get out every weekend and explore. Your recent recipes look so good! :)

Hey Anne! Love the pictures from your hike. Haven't done that one yet but it looks fun and relaxing. Also love the recipes. Here's to a rain-free next week so we can play some tennis! Jenna

I LOVE rainboots, and wear them every chance I get. It's not so much my feet that get hot as my legs, but knee-high socks help with that. Galoshes are the most fun ever! I am hoping to be on Pinterest but I requested an invite and so far, nothing. I'm getting so anxious!! Does anyone know how long it takes to get an invitation? Have fun, Anne, and thanks as always for all of the amazing recipes!!

Ooo really? I requested it from the Pinterest site on Friday, so maybe I did it wrong? I have a sort of amazing ability to mess up even the simplest of tasks!

Ohhh I just realized the only reason I got in so fast was because a Twitter friend invited me - apparently we each get invites. I'll send you one of mine! :) Let me know if it works!

I have purple rain boots that I heart- but yes, as they are rubber, my feet get real hot so either you have to bring a pair of shoes to change into or just not care about walking around in socks at the office (i do the latter)!

Oh man, my pink and purple swirly rain boots cut the circulation off in my legs due to my MASSIVE calf muscles, and yet I keep wearing them because they are just too darn cute :D
