Hi friends!

I enjoyed a nice rest day yesterday, so this morning I was ready to get back after it! I met my friend Karen bright and early for the 6 a.m. Heated Power Yoga with Weights class at CorePower Yoga in Georgetown. LOVEEEEE this class. So hard but awesome, and the blasting fun music is key. I came to the same class by myself last week, so it was fun to have company this time. Being in Georgetown so early in the morning is weird – it’s so quiet!

They had a sale going on so Karen and I both bought 10 class packs after class so we can come back often. I think I’m going to continue ClassPass, but it only lets you go to the same studio 3 times per month, and I want to go more often!

We took our sweaty, hot mess selves across the street to Baked & Wired for quick lattes after class. Yum!

Speaking of Georgetown early morning workouts, Chelsea and I hit up Urban Athletic Club again last Friday! The first class we went to was a full body workout; Friday’s was upper body.

urban athletic club

It was just as fun and tough as the first workout we went to there! Even though upper body was the focus, there was still a fair amount of cardio work that involved the lower body, too, you just didn’t do any full on weighted lower body moves. Like last time, they randomly paired us and had us working out at 3 different stations. LOVE all the variety with these workouts – really keeps you from getting bored.

Also love that they started writing the workout on the pillars in addition to on the board – it was hard to see before!

The ladies and I also appreciated seeing that they actually clean this place. 😉 Chris was mopping up sweat when we switched stations! Thanks for not making us work out in each other’s sweat, Chris. Also, the fact that there was enough sweat to be mopped up should give you a good idea of these workouts. 🙂

Chris (who taught the first class we went to) helped lead this workout, but the main instructor was a guy named Kevin Beale, who leads boot camps around the DC area. He was LEGIT. So fit and led a great class. Thanks, Kevin!

Chelsea and I are going back for a lower body class for comparison sake later this week. Should be fun! The workouts are free until the 14th, so get on it. I’m 100% going to keep going when it’s not free, though! I feel like between these classes and CorePower, I’m really loving workouts lately. 🙂

On the food front, I’ve been enjoying my standard Flour Free Breakfast Pancake…

And last night Matt and I enjoyed my Mexican Lasagna (<—click for recipe)! This is one of my absolute favorite recipes here on the blog. So easy and SO delicious. Versatile, too! I didn’t bother measuring anything – it’s hard to make this not delicious. 🙂 I added guacamole and left out the olives, but otherwise used the ingredients noted. For the chicken, I used a rotisserie chicken so it was fast and easy!

And now we have leftovers to enjoy this week, too. 🙂

I’ll end this random post with an easy packed lunch I threw together for myself last week, working out of the UberOffices.

I love that 8 chopped veggie mix – I picked it up at Trader Joe’s. Easy way to add some crunch and veggie nutrients/volume to your meals without extra work! I topped my salad with my standard homemade balsamic vinaigrette – packed in a baggie so it wouldn’t get soggy before I ate.

For snacks, a Kate Bakes Bar, some clementines, and some crackers and Cabot cheese. My friends at Cabot have been spoiling me with packages – their cheese + the Blue Diamond crackers are one of my favorite snacks.

healthy afternoon snacks

And now, on to tackle the day. I’m working downtown again today. So nice to get out and about, even though it’s gross and rainy today! We have an office happy hour tonight, so clearly I had to come in for that, anyway. #priorities

Have a good one, guys!

That Mexican Lasagna looks awesome. I definitely am going to make that next time I am cooking for a group. Might be a little too much for one :)

Freezing the leftovers is an option, too! Or you can make a single layer instead of multiple layers.

I've never tried their brownies - will have to next time I'm there not at 7 a.m. :) I have had their cupcakes, though, and while I'm not a big cake/cupcake person (pie = way more awesome, IMO), I have to admit they are tasty. Way better than Georgetown Cupcake!

I'm so glad to hear you love CorePower! I teach there on the side (in Chicago), right now the C1 and 1.5s, but I just got certified for Sculpt! It's my favorite to take besides C2. I also just joined ClassPass and am LOVING it! I had been wanting to try barre classes so I have been exploring the different studios we have here, and am trying Shred415 tomorrow which should be fun! Megan

Are you at the UberOffices in Farragut / Dupont? Or in Rosslyn? My company has office space at their Tysons location so I'm there a lot. Next time I'm at one of the closer locations, I'll look for ya!

I have been going to a lot of HIIT and bootcamp style workouts with ClassPass and I am loving it. I don't want the month to end! I am getting my personal training certification so I'm loving the exposure to all these places. Fingers crossed someone will hire me!

I love heated sculpt too! Where do you buy your Kate Bakes goodies? I see that she's local (to DC) so I was hoping to see them in stores rather than order online but haven't spied them yet.
