Hey friends!

Thanks for all your sweet congrats for the race yesterday 🙂 I’ve been feeling good today — a little sore/stiff but I think the foam rolling majorly helped! Why is it that I’m so much more sore after a 10 mile race than a 10 mile training run?? Anyone else? So weird.

Anyway! I had such a fun day today with my brother 🙂 As I mentioned, he’s in town visiting until tomorrow morning, so I took the day off from work so we could hang!

008

We started our day at my favorite trail. He ran and I walked, enjoyed the weather and scenery, and took photos, obviously 😉

016

I realized the only other time I’ve taken photos of the trail for the blog was in the snow! Remember that post? The canal was frozen solid and people were playing hockey on it! It looked quite different today 😉

I even saw a turtle swimming!! How cute! 🙂

013

For lunch, we headed to one of my favorite sushi places in the area — Koi Koi in Falls Church, VA.

031Mmmm… edamame!

032

And sushi! (I had the lunch combo!)036

After lunch we headed into Georgetown for some strolling.

044

043

Obviously I made him come with me to Sweetgreen so I could get some frozen yogurt 😉

We had such a fun day! Although there was a small mishap involving a too-close-curb and a deflated tire on the drive home… haha. Was totally late for class because of it. Oh well!

Thank goodness boys understand how to put on spare tires 😉

I just got home from class and now it’s off to bed! I have to take my brother to the airport in the morning… boo! I’m so glad we got some time to hang out — he’s in the Army and is heading off for deployment on Thursday. Please send him some good vibes!

Goodnight! 🙂

I think you're more sore during races cause you're running harder! Hey, is that the C&O trail?

Hey Anne, Those photos of the C&O canal are beautiful! I live in the Falls Church/Arlington area, near 7 Corners and have been looking for a non-paved path to run on. (The pavement is really hard on my knees). What access point do you use to get to the C&O path?

i was the same way after the c-ville 10 miler...but it didnt hit me until like 2 or 3 days later. and not like, debilitating pain, just mild, lingering soreness. i think we just rocked it so hard :) also, bless your brother! let him know we appreciate it all, and consistently pray for those men and women.
